Therapists In Therapy

Need Therapy

“When our wounds cease to be a source of shame, and become a source of healing, we have become wounded healers.”

Even professional therapists need therapy for their own lives. Independent of supervision, many therapists run into experiences or hardship where counseling can help.

Some signs that you may need therapy include

No Shame In Asking For Help

There’s no shame in asking for help. Therapists are human beings afterall. In fact, most clinicians go into this field because we’ve had challenges we learned how to overcome and now want to help others. We recognize the value of receiving therapy because of all the good it does and now want to lovingly turn the focus inward and work on ourselves

A number of therapists have reached out to me over the years because of my training. What I know is that therapy can help make you a stronger clinician. Only people who have been there can truly understand the client’s journey. Once you have dealt with issues of your own, you are better equipped to stand with your clients.

Professional Journey As Well As Their Personal One

When therapists come to me, I respect their professional journey as well as their personal one. This gives us a great backdrop for important conversations that help heal the challenges that brought them in. Therapists know the methods, the language, and the techniques I use allowing us to deeply collaborate on the healing. It’s powerful and important work and I am deeply honored to offer it.
